Cottage garden design
Cottage gardens aim to have year round colour. This is best achieved with a backbone of reliable shrubs and small trees chosen to provide colour at different times of year and underplanted with perennials to suit youer climate. Vegetables also have a plce ion the cottage garden and can be used to good effect to provide colour and form as well as a tasty meal! The 'cottage garden' look can be achieved within many different garden designs. Work with your site and utilise the different microclimates to support a range of plants. The garden pictures on this page were contributed by members of the Perennial Poppies Group Inc. They are gardens from across south east Queensland.
